Points to consider when choosing a mediator for divorce

The choice of a divorce mediator is one that must be taken seriously. Many people who divorce decide that they are going to work together to come up with the terms of the divorce so that they don’t have to go through the laborious process of litigation.

When you choose a mediator, you need to think carefully about a few points. One of the most important points is that the mediator needs to be someone you can trust. The mediation process is confidential, so you need to find someone who isn’t going to discuss your case with anyone. Mediators usually sign confidentiality agreements, but an unethical person might not care about this. Ask friends and family members for recommendations and go from there.
