When two people decide to marry, it’s usually with the intention that their marriage is going to last. Although this may be the goal, people never know what types of challenges they will be faced with or how they will react to them. Some people are able to work through things and stay married, while others, unfortunately, cannot seem to settle their disputes and end up divorcing. This is something that can happen to couples living all over the United States, whether they are regular people or celebrities.
Actress Amy Poehler and actor Will Arnett have reportedly finalized their divorce after being separated for years. Poehler and Arnett were married for nine years before deciding to separate in 2012, but it wasn’t until April 2014 that Arnett filed for divorce from Poehler. He cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for filing for the divorce.
Not many other details about their divorce settlement have been released. Allegedly, neither of the two spouses will be receiving spousal support. They plan to share custody of their children, two boys ages 5 and 7. It was not stated how property will be divided or how other divorce legal matters were handled during the process.
Whether couples decide to file for divorce right away or wait a few years to do so, the divorce process isn’t an easy thing to go through. People are emotional about their marriage ending, and as a result, they may not be thinking clearly or may act off of emotion. However, with the help of an attorney, people can keep their composure and survive the divorce process without falling apart.
